To celebrate the 2018 NAIDOC theme, Because of Her, We Can, Camera Story partnered with the Community Arts Network (CAN) to conduct and facilitate photography workshops and portrait photoshoots, celebrating the inspirational Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who paved the way for us and our community.

Over a five-week period, Camera Story and CAN collaborated with various community groups and individuals photographing over 150 women from the South-West region. This included, Langford Aboriginal Association, Midland Community, Mooditj Keila South Perth Community Group, Willagee Community, Melville Senior High School and Wadjak Northside Aboriginal Community Group.

The photographs were screened on the Yagan Square Digital Tower during NAIDOC Week 2018.
