In 2018, Camera Story were invited back to Derby District High School to facilitate a photographic engagement program with the year 7’s, 8’s, 9/10 and Enterprise One and Two students. The two week workshop series saw the students push the boundaries of photography, experimenting with artificial and natural light. Each group practised their skills in front of and behind the camera as part of a project titled, Light on Country.

The project also consisted of a photography camp at Windjana Gorge with the year 9/10 girls. After being welcomed to the site by Bunaba elder, Dylan Andrews with a smoking ceremony, we were able to see the incredible country in a very different light.

The photographs from the workshop series will culminate in an exhibition at DDHS in Term Four 2018.
