Camera Story's success will be measured by the positive impact it creates for First Nations women in the Kimberley region, fostering empowerment, creativity, & economic independence.
Camera Story is dedicated to the emancipation of women from economic and social dependency. Through the development of practical commercial and creative photographic skills, Camera Story works alongside Kimberley based First Nation’s women to recognise their inherent talent, develop their creative confidence and create opportunities for economic freedom.
Most recently Camera Story’s focus has been on partnerships and collaborations. We have collaborated with Enterprise Partnerships WA to support the Piriwa Enterprise Hub, Balgo and the Kalumburu Photography Collective and Broome CIRCLE to establish the Bidyadanga Photo Crew and the Perth Centre for Photography to support Maria Maraltadj, Maria Fredericks, Nuriah Jadai and Mary-Lou DIvilli via Exposure 3.0: New Voices in Australian Photography.
